Get ready! Aberdeen Cocktail Week returns on October 18th, and it’s all about exploring new flavours and enjoying delicious drinks, thanks to up-and-coming mixologists like Craig Scott! Craig has been mixing up some fantastic cocktails over the last couple of years, and he’s all about having a good time and sharing the love of a good party.
Craig dived into the world of cocktails simply because he loves the warm and friendly feel of hospitality and, well, who doesn’t love a great party atmosphere? It’s been a wild and fun journey, highlighted by opening his own bar, Bartenders Lounge last year.
Craig started out at Superico Bar and Lounge. There, Mikey Lynch and Ben Parihar taught him the ins and outs of making cocktails and, just as importantly, giving excellent service.
When it’s time for a drink, Craig loves a ‘Green Point’—it’s a mix of Rye Whiskey, Angostura bitters, orange bitters, sweet vermouth, and yellow chartreuse. And yes, Rye is his favourite spirit!
How does Craig describe Aberdeen’s cocktail scene? In his words, it’s emerging, it’s vibrant, and it’s fresh! I’m sure you’ll agree, and if you don’t, we’re confident you will after Aberdeen Cocktail Week.
However, he’s not into the ‘blue cocktail’ trend and he prefers to keep flavours real and noticeable, sorry Instagram, no sparklers or flashing lights here.
You can check out more of Craig’s creations on his bar’s Instagram @bartenders_lounge and of course, get ready to try his delicious creations at Aberdeen Cocktail Week!
